UNIT 3: Dreams

Image
The hit song "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac is a original song released in 1977 on the album "Rumours". The intrumentation of this song includes Drums, Bass, Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals, and Keyboards. the vocals of this song are quite simplistic and smooth. this song uses both electric guitar and acoustic guitar. The electric guitar uses what is known as "Violining" where the guitar strikes a chord / series of notes whilst the guitar is turned down then turning the guitar up whilst the notes are still playing. I do believe that to record this song they let the drum beat loop over and over, and then played over it  . The tempo is 123 BPM, the dynamic come across as quite soft and quiet but get louder and more enthusiastic towards the end. the structure of this song is Intro, Verse 1, Chorus, Transition into Verse 2, Chorus, Chorus  Fade out. the chords of this song are Fmaj7 G6 and are repeated throughout the whole of the song. there also seems to be an A...

during my rehearsal the other day, we wanted to be recorded for what the band has written so far so the video above is what we had. the results of this was somewhat cathartic knowing that we have recorded all of our progress so far. the results not only give us an incentive to keep going but it gives us the will to be better and improve upon our songs and achieve perfection. i believe i influenced this outcome by helping with the songwriting and coming up with more parts or the song. communicating and exploring has really helped the band expand and build upon new songs. i believe that if we were to do this again, we would do a few things differently. for starters, believe we should have spend more time working on our song as we spend a lot of time not doing anything which frustrates me. nothing of what we do is necessarily jamming or playing music, half the time people just sit about and wait for ideas to magically appear.  moving forward in this, i think we add more bits an...

The Beetles version of "Anna" is a cover of the original song by Arthur Alexander in 1962. the beetles instrumentation of Anna features electric guitar, bass, vocals, drums, and acoustic guitar. The acoustic guitar seems to play the chords of the song whilst the electric guitar does a lot of rhythm. Anna was recorded in a live studio with a tempo of around 110 and structured with 8 bars. The chords of this song consist of D, Bm, Em, A, G, and E. the structure is Intro, Verse 1, Bridge, Verse 2, Bridge, Verse 3. Anna is played in the key of E and the Melody and rhythm is quite sad of and melancholy. The lyrics are about a girl, presumably of the name "Anna" who goes through an affair and is written from the perspective of a man who is still in love with Anna and finds acceptance in the fact that his loved one is now gone. Arthur Alexander's version of "Anna" is the original song made in 1962. The instrumentation of this song consists of Piano, Vocals,...

Performance Project 2

ways to improve this song could include changing up the drums section so its not the same beat for 3 minutes straight. maybe throw a few fills in there and try to improvise something, turn the bass down and try to mix in with the music, change up the guitar more often and create a structure of the song, maybe add some vocals to this song? vinny · Gower College Swansea - Llwyn y Bryn Campus 7

Memorable song Performance- unit 1

this is a performance of Orion by Metallica in 2006 @ Rock Am Ring. Released in 1986 on the "Master Of Puppets" album, this was the first time they performed the entire song live. The authenticity of it being the first time they ever performed Orion made it so memorable for me as this is my favourite Metallica song. the song is 8 minutes long and is gold throughout every second from start to finish. the crowd were brilliant as one man set off a flare and they all contributed. Orion was written by former bassist Cliff Burton who died in a bus accident not long after the release of Master of Puppets and the current bassist "Robert Trujillo was one of the only ones who could capture his likeness on the bass. even better Rob Played the bass solo in the song and nailed it. 10/10 performance for me.

UNIT 1- Performance 2 reflection i personally think that this band worked better together than the last one i was in. we worked together to achieve a manageable and achievable goal i believe that we achieved i influenced the outcome by doing my best in all endeavours in this performance. i did what i could and i thought i did very well.  if i were to perform this again, i would make sure that we rehearsed more often and salvaged what we could from our practice sessions and nailed every part to a tee.
