L3 Unit 5 & 6


This will be my on going diary for units 5 and 6 dedicated to the creation, recording, and mixing of my music video.  


For this assignment, I need to write a song, record it in logic, mix it, record a music video, edit the music video, and release it on YouTube.


The song that my band have chosen to recording a music video for is "Take it to your Grave" which is a song about the character named "Conquest" from the comic book TV adaptation "Invincible". In the season 3 finale, Invincible faces planet Viltrums most feared warrior "Conquest" who batters invincible from pillar to post. During the fight, Conquest opens up to our hero and discusses his feelings of loneliness and isolation from his own race and how he doesn't even get his own name, only a purpose. He tells Invincible "Take it to your Grave" and tries to kill him. I thought Conquest would make a fantastic theme for a song so I wrote Take it to your grave about him

I wrote the song in March and I was immensely proud of what I had created. It opened a door for me in the world of creating music and showed me that I can compose and get better whilst doing it. When my band was formed, I showed them what we could achieve and we gave the song more structure and room for the vocals to creep in. 


My guitarist Polly has a plan for all of this and has done a great job in doing so. Made my life a lot easier.


We have recorded the drums, Rhythm guitar, Bass, and Lead guitar on our track and it is sounding very good. The tempo is at 150BPM and is sounding very thrash and heavy. The vocals are next, we might have to record some more guitar bits here and there, especially the solo. I will not make the solo sound bad, its one of my best solos.

The first half of recording the music video is complete, we recorded some footage of us in the studio and the music video should be looking very good once we edit everything together. The second half will be done on the stage later on and I am looking forward to that.

The music Video is complete and the mixing is mostly done. Now I must edit the music video on Adobe pro and complete everything. Misu has sent me the files of the music video so all I have to do it compile them all into a music video. 


The music video is now complete, time to watch the premiere on YouTube!

Throughout the course of this project I have done a lot of research in this project so today I will show and explain all the research I've done in this project. Unit 8: Week 1

 So far i have learned how to put a guitar into logic using an interface and how to record my guitar parts into logic. I choose to play a harmony from the 1986 track by metallica "Master of Puppets". i chose this because it is a very good solo and it will get me into harmonizing which i had never done before  First of all, i had put the interface in control of the sound by changing the output and input to the interface. I then changed the input and output in logic to the interface. I then plugged a guitar cable into the interface but there was no sound on it so i had to change the interface to channel 2 so the system could hear my guitar. I checked a tab for master of puppets and changed the tempo to 106 which orchestrates the speed of the song. I had then started recording the two guitar tracks which harmonized with each other and after hundreds and hundreds of takes, i finally got the perfect harmony.
