Unit 8: Week 2 & 3



Following the creation of "Drunk ass riff 1" i created this demo of the main riff on logic and i'm happy to say i've made progress, but this is thirty work. Week 2 was really tough because i struggled to remain focused in the process of recording. My brain has been all over the place since last week and i am looking to rectify that in week 3.
Week 3 began with my lecturer showing me the blues scale and a few other scales which can influence solos and help create riffs.  


I messed about with the scale for a bit until i created a blues riff and threw a bit of distortion on it and just like that, i've got a new riff. It doesn't exactly fit into the doomy/egypt like riff in my first track, so maybe that'll be a new song entirely. I'm thinking just a whole instrumental song with blues solos over it and dedicating it to the madness that has occurred in the past year, from the start of college in september to the now in april and the numbered weeks that will follow. It has been a crazy academic year for me and i've learned so much about music, myself, and society. This EP will hopefully reflect on all that showing everyone what i've learned and what i am capable of making. 





After the creation of my magnificent riff, my lecturer Adam was delighted to see that i used a proper scale to make a proper riff and hopped on the drum kit and made a drum beat out of it. 












i shall put this song into logic in due time an see what i can do to make it into an actual song

Throughout the course of this project I have done a lot of research in this project so today I will show and explain all the research I've done in this project. What you see here the tabs for "Enter Sandman" and "Lucretia". L3 Unit 5 & 6

This will be my on going diary for units 5 and 6 dedicated to the creation, recording, and mixing of my music video.   For this assignment, I need to write a song, record it in logic, mix it, record a music video, edit the music video, and release it on YouTube. The song that my band have chosen to recording a music video for is "Take it to your Grave" which is a song about the character named "Conquest" from the comic book TV adaptation "Invincible". In the season 3 finale, Invincible faces planet Viltrums most feared warrior "Conquest" who batters invincible from pillar to post. During the fight, Conquest opens up to our hero and discusses his feelings of loneliness and isolation from his own race and how he doesn't even get his own name, only a purpose. Unit 8: Week 1

 So far i have learned how to put a guitar into logic using an interface and how to record my guitar parts into logic. I choose to play a harmony from the 1986 track by metallica "Master of Puppets". i chose this because it is a very good solo and it will get me into harmonizing which i had never done before  First of all, i had put the interface in control of the sound by changing the output and input to the interface. I then changed the input and output in logic to the interface. I then plugged a guitar cable into the interface but there was no sound on it so i had to change the interface to channel 2 so the system could hear my guitar. I checked a tab for master of puppets and changed the tempo to 106 which orchestrates the speed of the song. I had then started recording the two guitar tracks which harmonized with each other and after hundreds and hundreds of takes, i finally got the perfect harmony.
