L3 Unit 8: Week 6

This week I'll be prioritising the 4th and final song. In my time not only here in this college, but during this project, I've realised that I can no longer rely on anyone else to help me with this project. I may need someone for the odd thing here and there but I need to meet this deadline sharpish. I'm thinking of just writing a guitar solo in logic. No drums, maybe a bit of bass guitar, but mostly guitar. My third song will be in the studio with Bien and Misu, but I'll do the 4th song myself. Simply put, I haven't got any time for this project to be sullied by the unreliability of others. Time to head to logic and see what we can do..


I got inspired to do the 4th song by these people who play along to backing tracks like this


          


I don't know why but stuff like this gave me the idea to do so. I used these particular effects on the MIDI keyboard and tried to solo over it. Its gonna take some more solid song structuring to make a song. I didn't really record anything, I just doodled around in logic trying to find inspiration or something that worked whilst also feeling original and iconic. Next week I'll do more experimenting and see what I can do.

Throughout the course of this project I have done a lot of research in this project so today I will show and explain all the research I've done in this project. What you see here the tabs for "Enter Sandman" and "Lucretia". L3 Unit 5 & 6

This will be my on going diary for units 5 and 6 dedicated to the creation, recording, and mixing of my music video.   For this assignment, I need to write a song, record it in logic, mix it, record a music video, edit the music video, and release it on YouTube. The song that my band have chosen to recording a music video for is "Take it to your Grave" which is a song about the character named "Conquest" from the comic book TV adaptation "Invincible". In the season 3 finale, Invincible faces planet Viltrums most feared warrior "Conquest" who batters invincible from pillar to post. During the fight, Conquest opens up to our hero and discusses his feelings of loneliness and isolation from his own race and how he doesn't even get his own name, only a purpose. UNIT 8: Evaluation

  During the creation of these four songs, I learnt a lot about music and songwriting and it was a great experience overall . At the start I made the M aster of P uppets interlude to get my hands on L ogic so I could understand it better . I didn't intend on using that on my EP but I eventually ended up using it as the second track. Once I had completed the guitars for the first song , I started work on my second song “Take it to your grave” This is a song that I take great pride in as it's my first ever original song . The main riff was created on a random drunken Thursday evening and the next day I came into college and I put it into logic . There a lot of figuring out to do such as the tempo, the key of the riff, the bassline etc. But I eventually finished the song by adding a solo using the A minor pentatonic scale and adding an interlude part of the song using a sample from the animated television show “Invincible” where a character named Conquest tells the...
